“Ek Vakxeias Monogenesi” The first accessible collection of poetry by Sophia Deuterigou

A poetry collection different from the others was presented a few days ago at Myrtilo, where people with special needs work. This is the poetry collection “Ek Bakxeias Monogenesi”, by Sophia Deuterigou, what sets it apart is that it is the first of its kind in our country and in Europe to be published in Braille, in sign language and in international meanings, this ensures that individuals with various disabilities can access poetry.

Due to the significance of the publication and the support it provides to blind and deaf citizens, the following individuals participated in the presentation: Minister of Labor Domna Michaelidou, former Minister Theodoros Rousopoulos, who also served as the panel coordinator, author and philologist Paschalia Travlou, philologist Juliana Bousi, sign language interpreter and President of Greek Interpreters George Stathis, and art director Ilias Georgaras.

The greetings were addressed by Archimandrite Nektarios Dardanos, the Chief Secretary, the President of the Federation of the Deaf, Konstantinos Sympsis, the Vice President of the Lighthouse for the Blind in Greece, Georgia Roukoutaki, and the archaeologist museologist Eleni Markou from the Museum of Cycladic Art.
The event was musically accompanied by the singer Lina Rodopoulou with the accompaniment of harp and piano, while the highly successful and targeted direction was undertaken by Ion Kechagioglou.
