The cloud that sought the rain
on the broadleaf,
the schooner in the midst and the basil,
the pennyroyal and the silver foil,
the child playing silently,
God and wild beast…
The works of Sofia Deuterigou are inspired by the ancient Greek world, as well as by an approach to contemporary concepts and values. Her poetry, from a young age, has been published in magazines, online, and in literary tributes. She has participated with a short story in a collection of works alongside other authors, where their remarkable effort was honored with the first prize. The book “Ek Vakheias Monogenesis” is her first collection of selected poetic works, texts, and aphorisms, published by Vakxikon Editions.
“The most beautiful language of poetry is Greek. It gives you youthful gazes, allowing you to admire endlessly!”
“If you had to describe it with just one word, what would it be?
S.D.: Civilization”
“A child's exposure to poetic thought, musical language, and the art of reading will be a unique experience for both the child and their environment!”
“"I enclose a chosen world within my book and hope that this connection brings the appropriate light!"”
“As I was writing about beauty, my admiration grew stronger for everything and towards everything! It entered my subjects and instilled in me the noble perspective of the researcher, the thinker, the philosopher, the orator, the creator!”
“Only time absolutely puts things in their place.”
“We are the mirror of the state we have. Every action we take impacts the state we wish to shape.”
“I share the Light with those who truly need it, bringing about a small or great change in their moment—and perhaps even in their life!”
“-How does inspiration come?
-Through people!”
